The earliest type of quarrymen's coach were these open two-compartment vehicles which were built rather reluctantly by the FR when Captain Tyler refused to allow the quarrymen to be carried in slate wagons. There were 32 of these vehicles available for use in 1871.

This is a complete kit, including wheels, brass bearings, axles, buffers and side plaque.

Ffestiniog Quarrymen's Coach Type 1b

From 1873 many of the type 1a were fitted with a timber upper superstructure providing doorways but no doors or windows. These are referred to as Type 1b, or sometimes as the Open Halfside coach. The evidence suggests that they had all gone, or at least had ceased to be used as quarrymen's cars, by 1887. None of these vehicles survive

Ffestiniog Quarrymen's Coach Type 2a

Transporting quarrymen from Porthmadog to Blaenau Ffestiniog was an important part of the railway's traffic and was first served by basic four wheel vehicles more like a wagon than a coach. The type 2a had the luxury of a roof, with seating for 16 men and open doors.

This is a complete kit, including wheels, brass bearings, axles, buffers, detailing parts and side plaque.
